As part of his concert at Columbus State University on April 5, 2009, Charlie Vernon performed Eric Ewazen's "Concertino for Bass Trombone and Trombone Octet" and Christian Lindberg''s "Chick'a'Bone Checkout." These excerpts were recorded live in Legacy Hall. The photo at the bottom is of the Chick'a'bone trombone section (Jessica Ducharme, and Andrew Shelton) and Dr. Palmer after the performance. This concert was one of the first performances during International Trombone Week, 2009. Along with Vernon's performance at Columbus State, events were held thoughout the world in honor of ITW.
