The 2007-2008 Columbus State University trombone studio consists of 11 students pursuing Music Education, Performance, or Bachelors of Arts in Music degrees.  Each student has an hour-long lesson with Dr. Palmer each week, and attends a group studio class each Friday.

Meet the members of the Trombone Studio

Trombone students have a number of performing opportunities at Columbus State, including:

There are two large trombone ensembles at Columbus State University.  The Trombone Choir is around 16 members strong, and rehearses each week on Tuesday night.  The Trombone Octet was founded in 2005, and is the premier trombone ensemble, comprised of eight auditioned members.  The Octet rehearses on Friday afternoons at 3:30.  Rehearsals for both groups are open, and visitors are welcome.  Trombone students also form trombone quartets that perform on and off campus. Clips of the trombone ensembles can be found on the “Clips and Photos” link on the left.
